Black History Month

Federal Resources for Education Excellence is offering some great collections of Black History materials. Make a virtual visit to the Harlem Renaissance or learn about Madam C. J. Walker, America’s first Black millionaire. I found it interesting that Mr. C. J. Walker thought his wife could stop her work, since she had made “enough” money, but she continued because she saw herself as filling a real need for African American women. Decades later Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would point out that serving is what makes a person a great.
