Video game “workout”

Arlette Perry, PhD, a professor of exercise science at the University of Miami studies boys aged 7 and up who play video games. She found that during exciting games, their heart rates rose 20 percent and their breathing rates jumped 55 percent! She said this is equivalent to walking at a pace of two miles per hour.

Not to mention all the cognitive benefits. For links to exciting educational games, refer to Mark’s Sept 3rd post or find an extensive list of quality software from Boston’s Museum of Science (you have to scroll down a little ways first).
