Often, early readers need just a little bit of added incentive to finish or start a book. Here’s a trick from FamilyFun magazine:
Cut strips of construction paper on which to write the name of each book as your child finishes it. As each strip is completed, tape it into a loop and add it to a chain that will grow with each book your child reads. The chain of book titles gives a tangible sense of accomplishment, and can be shown off to visiting friends and relatives.
